As we learned last year, caravaning can be fun, if not a bit difficult. The problem is the speeds that people want to travel. Some cars want to go..go..go, while others just don't want to travel above 70-75.
If everyone you are traveling with is fine with certain speeds you need to know it in advance.
Case in point.... Last year going to Ohio, the first day was good, we traveled at a good clip of approx 72-75mph. My wife was driving her 900S and doesn't like to push it faster than that, which was fine.
On the second day we linked up with a bunch of guys from Central Penn and set out on a good pace. However by the afternoon with Cincy in our sights we were completely strung out over a 3 or 4 mile line doing up to 85-90mph.
What was worse was the guys up front kept giving Suzanne a lot of shit for holding things up, when it wasn't even her, but another caravanee driving a Turbo CV, who wouldn't keep up. He was dragging at the end of the pack not willing to use the go pedal, especially when we were trying to pass semis.
So by the time we got to the convention we didn't roll in together like we had planned, but all spread out over the countryside.
Since then when we go any distances we try to travel in a 2 or 3 ship configuration, it just makes it easier because we can stay together and keep better pace.
