P2635 Fuel Pump Code CEL Anders? Posted by Marcd7 [Email] (#1232) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Marcd7) on Sun, 30 Mar 2014 13:25:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 2011 Aero with 52k miles. At a half tank yesterday, I filled up at an Exxon. Drove another 30 miles, then she began to idle rough. Then shortly after, the P2635 popped. Overnight, I put some Lucas E10 fuel treatment in, hoping to stabilize some bad fuel.
This morning, I double checked the gas cap and cranked it up, and it idled smoothly again, CEL stayed on. I turned off the car, pulled the fuel pump relay in the engine bay to make sure it was seated properly and checked the contacts, then reinstalled it. Cranked the car up, CEL turned off, and it's idling smoothly again. I drove it again about 5 miles, up to WOT, and it did not show a CEL again.
The o-ring on the gas cap is soft and gummy, so I'm hoping that is the issue. Problem is, the EPC shows a non-threaded gas cap, like the one typically found on a 9-3SS, with two triangular notches on either side. I tried getting one from my Saab indy for my car, and the wrong cap showed up, although that's what was listed in the EPC.
