V6 Crankcase breather update (pic)

After almost a year, I've changed the engine breather to an old school 'road vent'.
Not venting into the intake made a noticeable improvement in power, helped make the cold start hesitation go away, and the intake manifold and Idle Air Controller are nice and clean. (It does have to be reconnected for the e-mishun tests.)
Trouble was, it stank! The crank fumes (oily steam) got into the climate control system, I imagine through the A/C drain hose, and stunk up the car at idle, especially when starting. Converting to an old fashioned hose keeps the vapors out of the cabin.
(In theory, the fender well is a low pressure area and might help extract the fumes.)
You could put a filter on the end of the hose, but while running, the engine is really pumping out, never in, even on a low mileage car (ours has ~80K).
Top left, old K & N breather.
Bottom left, new 5/8" hose to fender.
Right, hose outlet over transmission case.
