drive shaft problem

Problem with removing drive shaft on passenger side getting free from supporting carrier bearing is problem I think. Dealer said to separate from alternator, bracket will come off, and shaft will slide out of tranny with bearing and bracket on it. Already pulled CVJ apart trying to get it out on other advice. Following steps in Workshop cd rom, not working as expected. Should I relieve tensioner, slide alternator up, then will the bracket get lose? This is killing me here, want to send CVJs out for rebuild, all I have is only transportation in pieces. HELP, PLEASE!
Thanks in advance
