Regarding my previous post (see link below):
Installed new lower rad hose. Placement and alignment of the hose appeared exactly the same as the first one, too close to the front exhaust pipe right near the oxygen sensor. To fix the problem, I used a zip tie and found a mounting hole on the back of the fan shroud that looked ready-made for something like this. See photo below. Looks OK to me but it is still only about 2-2.5" from the exhaust and oxygen sensor point. I don't think it will melt but I will check it regularly.
I definitely have it fitted the proper way. It is possible that I'm missing something in the process, but there is little room for adjustment. You can only rotate the hose a few degrees by turning each connection in tandem.
My hose placement must be higher than gray man's (see linked post below) because with the zip tie, there is no way I could wedge it behind the A/C lines. W/o a zip tie it would be possible but a stretch, and I would be concerned about damaging the rad hose and maybe damaging the A/C lines as I bent them to accomodate.
I did buy a new lower radiator hose, genuine Saab from my dealer. Last time was genuine as well but mail order from Taliaferro. "Old new" and new hose look identical.
