My 1994 Saab 900 SE broke down almost two weeks ago. Supposedly the water pump for the engine broke, causing the engine belt to snap. There was also a slow oil leak that we had fixed. We picked the car up from the repair shop and were very surprised by the noise it was making when we turned the car on. We had never had any problems with noises with the car until the day it broke down, and that was caused by the snapped engine belt. This sound is also very different than the sound we heard that day. It sounds like metal clinking (VERY loudly.. heads turned on the street). The entire car shakes as well. The car died on our street, which was about seven minutes from the dealership. Any suggestions as to what is wrong with the car? We have listened to the sound, and it appears to be coming from the engine or around that area. The car is stuck in first gear it is so dead. Does it sound like this was caused by carelesness or lack of knowledge by the car repairman?
thank you very much. any suggestions or comments are very welcome
