If you experienced a fuel cut or somthing like that is mid yellow boost range, you could have a failing DI cassette or some plugs that are way out of gap. Check the plugs, and gap them between .35 to .39. Replace if very old.
The Abbott MBC is a bleed valve and is of the old school MBC's. Ball and spring MBC's create faster spool up while still raising peak boost. But then there's the overshoot problem, but search the 9-3BB for the MBC+A to deal with cold weather overshoots.
