I'm sure you know that opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one, and they all stink! How much is your budget? If you have a very small bag of rupees, then go with good speakers...what kind? Refer to the first sentence. Crutchfield has a large selection that will fit your car. They range from $20 to a couple of hundred bucks per. There are often great "specials" if you are patient. I put in Rockford Fosgate speakers. The 6x9's were (on sale) $119/pr., and the fronts were on "special" for $25/pr. if you bought the rears at the same time! The prices were better than a 50% savings. I installed bass blockers on the front speakers ($10). I did install a subwoofer and amp in the hatch area (left, rear, behind the wheelwell). But, that can be done any time after you replace the head unit with an aftermarket stereo head. As I said before, if your head unit is good, then start with the speakers and bass blockers. Set your budget FIRST, and work within that value. As you read more BB opinions, you'll realize that many people have "limited" budgets at better than $3000!! With much patience, I have put in an Alpine XM capable head, gotten all the adapters and cubbies, replaced all the speakers, installed an aux. amplifier and a subwoofer for under $500. Yes, my ears will bleed if I am silly enough to turn it waaaaaaaaay up!
Good luck,
jt
