Even if you drive the rears off of an external amp, the head unit will still send the same piddly amount of power to the dash speakers. It's still enough for tiny 3.5" speakers. It probably will have more headroom to give them a little extra power if needed, though. If I were you, I'd just stick with the stock amp for the door speakers and add a 2-channel amp for the rears. Those door speakers rattle the door panels and the mirrors enough as it is!
