Thank you, thank you.
I performed this surgery this past weekend.
I had paid a local shop to re and re my fuel tank to replace the fuel pump.
After 2 weeks they asked me to remove the car because they couldn't make it run.
They insisted my "computer" was faulty.
When I got it home and charged the battery I turned the key. The pump was running!!!
Due to the cold, I left it to rot (I was pissed).
Then I got diagnostic. I removed the fuel pressure regulator and turned the key. No fuel.
I purchased a new filter and removed the old one (it might have been plugged) and turned the key - no fuel. Darn drat poo.
I got out the tin snips and did the deed. I looked and looked. Something was wrong. I ran upstairs and looked at your photos and then ran down. I ran up and looked at your photos and ran down. Why was the white fuel line where you indicate the black one and the black one where you indicate the white one? Trembling, I removed them and swapped them (I'm not impressed that Saab make them the same...).
Turn the key. Let the pump run. Turn the key. Let the pump run. Turn the key and the DARN CAR STARTED AND RAN LIKE A CHAMP.
I called the shop and spoke with the owner. I told him I'd be over to collect the $520 that I paid since I had to reproduce the work he did (effectively). He seems sympathetic but I don't think he'll volunteer the whole amount. Whatever I get, I owe you a 6 pack, so please keep
pnielsen AT passport.ca in mind if you're in Toronto!
