95 900 Clutch Pedal Play Posted by Saabster [Email] (#2456) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabster) on Wed, 23 Mar 2005 10:09:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've read the numerous clutch postings in this group. I replaced the cable to rule that out. My manual box is a reman from Sweden. It was put in about 3 years ago. I've always used synthetic lube. (Replace every spring for Ss and Gs.
Last fall, the pedal stopped returning to the rest position. I had to jump out the return switch so I could use the cruise control. I get a large amount of slop on the top end. I would guess 1" to 1.5" of slop. It didn't even come close to actuating the return switch even after bending the switch bracket a tad.
I also have that nortorious "SQUEAK" of the pedal. I would guess that I need the return spring replaced. Is this something that can be done at home or does the dealer have to replace?
Thanks
Tom Rice
