Having been on a long, hard Viggen test-drive recently, I'd have to say that all of the auto-writers' complaints about torque steer are exaggerated.
Yes, if you drive very badly--full-throttle starts in a 90-degree turn--you can get a Viggen's to dance a bit, but that's going to be true of any relatively light, front-wheel-drive car with tons of power.
My recommendation would be to take one out on a test-drive and judge for yourself.
