Quality problems on Fords? Sure some cars are lemons but there every car company has its problems. Look at Saabs, they are much more reliable then they used to be. My 95 900S was in the shops in the first two years of ownership about as much as it was in a gas station. Replaced alternator, clutch cable, frozen idle pully, bad paint job, replaced radio, replaced sid, and tons of minor repairs. Bottom line is that I loved that car, and I got a base 9-3 to replace it this year. But Ford makes good vehicles, especially SUV's and trucks. My brother had a F-150 that ran for a 120,000 miles with one or two minor problems, my friend had a 1992 F-150 and has over 200,000 miles on it and one replaced transmission (he tows boats all the time) and other than the transmission he hasn't had any problems, and my mother drives a Expedition with 65,000 miles on and no problems what so ever (and to those who say she is another SUV mom, she tows stuff with it about three times a month). Point being Ford produces some quality vehicles for the masses, and in my opinion has a much higher quality build than GM products. When I get into any GM product (besides SAAB, Corvettes, and Caddies) I feel cheap and I have to go take a shower and scrub the cheap feeling off my body. Not everyone here likes SUV's, in fact most everyone here hates them. I don't like most but I do like the explorer and the expedition which both serves its purposes. I don't plan on getting a SUV anytime soon but neither do I plan on getting a 9-5, I plan to hold on to my 9-3 and have fun in it. Bottom line is Ford is probaly the best quality U.S. auto company and builds good vehicles.
