Clutch wimp-ification?

Anyone else have an strange clutch softening experience with his/her 9-3?
The weird thing is its causing the engage point to move higher rather than lower. My cars in the past have gradually softened their clutches over time, but when this happened, the engage point would slowly sink toward the floorboard - more or less indicative of a wearing clutch plate, as I understand it.
With my Saab, the pedal feel is getting softer while the engage point moves UP. This makes the tranny feel wimpy, like that of a fresh but gutless Hyundai or something. It makes it a lot harder to get feedback and hence modulate the clutch. It also makes the car feel jumpy, as though there is more play in the driveline and squat on acceleration, as I keep tending to rev higher while letting the clutch out. Its really kind of irritating, but the dealer doesn't see the problem.
Any ideas?
