having recently defected from a long tryst with Volvo, I agree with Coolknight. The S60 is more up to date, probably a better car, though I have never been overly impressed with Volvo's first year efforts. They do get it right in time, however, and I think overall are probably longer lasting and for sure have better re-sale value up our way. You do pay more up front for just about everything, esp. accesories. One of the reasons I was so attracted to the Viggen was that all the extra goodies, ie. alloys/snows, etc. were so reasonably priced. It just looked to me that Saab was making much more of an effort to win over customers whereas Volvo did everything to alienate them. Thank God they at least brought the manual tranny back in the T5 (which is de rigeur in my book)
