When we were younger, my brother, Julio, had a really tricked-out donkey (notched ears, custom bridle, low-profile shoes, blinders, oversized exhaust bag - no muffler - and a brand that read "ASSKIKR"). That thing would go! We used to tear around the autobahn - er, the Otto Barn, that is, in central PA - so fast that everything was a blur. Of course, we were drunk, and everything was pretty much a blur even at standstill, and the bumping up and down didn't help... Anyway, we'd go round and round until one of us got sick or fell off - which brings up safety. I'll have to check, but I think Ass and Mule Rider had an article last year that said there were only 2 donkey-related deaths per year on average - worldwide! Man, I miss that ride.
