Note to Nevin -

That was the answer that my dealer gave me when my car was new (Feb. 2000). I just got the auto door locks set-up and they work fine to lock the doors. Unfortunately, when the key is removed, only the driver's door opens.

I think that this is because the security system is set up to only open the driver's door when the key fob is pressed once. I will ask my dealer about this the next time I go in for service.

You should demand that your dealer get the proper software for your car. If not, go to another dealer. This should be covered by warranty, since it should have been set up to your preference at the time your car was delivered. It's SAAB's fault that the proper program was not delivered to the dealers with the 2000 model cars.
