Why on earth is Saab holding off publishing a definitive picture of the new 9-3, what are they afraid of? I mean Audi is releasing a drop-dead gorgeous A4 later this year which I am sure any prospective buyer in the "9-3 class" of car is going to be looking at! There has been a lot of talk that the new 9-3 will not have a hatchback version, how come? Just as BMW, Mercedes and now Audi put the final touches on a hatch -albeit a sporty hatch- Saab decides to drop theirs, whatever is GM thinking? The reasoning behind the SUV makes no sense at all to me as that market is saturated and Im pretty sure that anyone who wants an SUV already has one, right?! If Saab thinks it can compete against BMW X5 or Merc M class I think it is seriously barking up the wrong tree. I mean, the SUV car is set to be built in Mexico and I doubt very much that GM in Mexico can produce a quality car worthy of the Saab badge unless they steal all of VW workforce currently building the Bug and Golf as they are quality items in their market-segment. I suggest Saab develop, WITH GREAT SPEED, a 9-5X 4x4 sportwagon so they dont screw up and get left behind by the likes of Volvo, BMW and Audi. I hope that all the 'secretiveness' behind the 9-3 is proven wrong and the 9-3 proves a huge success, stylistically and from a sales point of view. What I guess I am really trying to say is the whole reason behind Saab even existing is to provide the public with a very different but fun-as-hell driving experience in a vehicle that looks like no-one elses. If Saab forgets this philosophy then why the hell should Joe Public want a Saab? All I can hope is that the new design chief at Saab can bring the magic back to Saab once we see the new 9-5 in about 4 years time but I think GM will have screwed things up by then which is really too bad!

What does everyone else think?
