I offer my sympathies. I keep telling myself it's just an act-of-god so get over it. Last Friday, some road debris screwed up the front chin spoiler and destroyed one foglight. Parts will be about $400. There was absolutely nothing I could do to avoid it that wouldn't have risked a much larger accident.
Luckily, on Saturday a dealer in Iowa is having a fix-in where they've invited any Saab owner to come on down, buy parts at cost and use their tools/equipment to work on their cars. They'll also have help available. All this for free! By the way, it's Meyer Garage (http://www.meyersaab.com). I'm doing work on both my 9-5 and 900.
Anyway, turning 25 next month and finally an accident will fall off my record in May, so my insurance will FINALLY drop... Claiming ($400 - deductible) or ($600-$700 - deductible) for another dealer to do the repair is just not worth claiming. Oh well.
By the way, I also had to replace 2 wheels last fall ($225 each) due to road damage. Damn low-profile tires. That was arguably my fault but still sucked.
Anyway, my condolences.
