I believe it was on the Kelly Blue Book site (http://www.kbb.com) that I saw the insurance theft rates for all cars. Saab was one of the lowest for sure.

Basically the lock on the transmission makes it nearly impossible to steal unless you are going to tow it away. Saabs are also not popular cars to steal in general because they are not popular cars in general. The most popular stolen cars are generally very popular cars like Camrys, Accords, and SUVs. This is because demand is high, need for parts are high, and they blend into the landscape.

The only case of a Saab being stolen in NYC existed on Senfield. If you remember someone stole his 900 conv.

All in all you are pretty safe. I never worry about my Viggen - I know if someone stole it in Dallas they would probably track it down...
