I have used the V1 for nearly 4 years and it is by far outperformed my expectations. Great range, ease of use, and tolerance to heat/cold. My only complaint is its clunky size. I intend to purchase the Concealed Display in the near future for more privacy. I do not intentionally break the speed limit, but have been saved COUNTLESS times by late night trips home from work where quota-driven police have been prowling the automotive public....
For Saabists, my recommendation for placement is using the visor clip and attaching the V1 to the driver's side visor. Positively install the wiring harness and connectors and run the wire (get almond colored telco RJ-11 cord for beige int) from the visor down the pillar to the fuse box. If you must use the power cord (Cig lighter), then run the cord above and to the right of your rear view mirror's support stem and then down to the power outlet. I've tried placing the V1 on the lower center windshield, but it interferes with the SE's sensor below. Also, the V1's rear antenna does not get a good clear shot at the back window, esp. with passengers.
Lastly, the V1 support line is terrific. Had a couple of issues with
the unit and both times the issues were corrected swiftly and professionally. Top notch advice, too, if you ever have any questions.
I do NOT work for Michael Valentine... hahahaha
Good luck !
