Bought a 2000 coupe with a few thousand miles in 3Q 2000 - paid $28K - I was able to get a good deal, but since it had a few miles on it I was in a great position to bargain. Even a new one at the end of 2000 was running around $32,500.
Positives:
1) Fun and Fast
2) Unique looks (I always get nice comments from people)
3) Smell of the leather
4) Comfortable
5) Good gas mileage for a sports car
6) I love the interior
Negatives (mostly compared to a BMW 328 I had):
1) Rut steer with those wide tires is very noticable
2) Low to the ground
3) Rims bend and damage easily, easy to knock alignment out of whack
4) Lightening blue gets dirty easily - worse than black! The aerodynamics of the car seem to collect dirt in strange places.
5) Handling could be a little tighter, like a BMW or Audi
I really haven't had any major problems with mine and it now has 13K miles on it. It was an easy decision for me given the deal I got. At 39K I might think twice or consider a few other cars like the S4 or 330. Still an awesome car though....and would do it agian even at a higher price.
