would I trade it for an ultra-reliable Honda or Toyota. Not a chance in hell. I've never owned a car that puts a smile on my face like this. It's never boring, it stands out in a crowd and has been reliable mechanically, but there have been some little problems.
1) Leaking sunroof. -- attributed to faulty sunroof glass, replaced under warranty, no problems since.
2) faulty Boost control valve -- car ran fine, but it just didn't reach max boost, replaced under warranty no problems since. This apparently was only a problem with MY99 and early MY00.
3) faulty ACC LED display -- ACC worked fine, but some of the LEDs on the display didn't work so the display looked funny. replaced twice under warranty. Haven't heard of any MY00 or MY01 having this problem.
The only problem that bothered me was the faulty boost control valve, because the car wouldn't reach max boost. So I went for a couple of weeks without max turbo boost. The smile wasn't as bright. As soon as it was replaced the smile went right back to max.
