Contacted dealership today to check on my base 9-3 in for numerous fixes including three computer chip recall parts and asked about the seemingly large difference in performance I'm experiencing out of the 2001 9-3 SE I'm driving which is tight, quick and smooth. Was told that the difference is due to mileage, (mine has 8K), this one 515 mi, and that there is a dealie bopper in the computer which acclamates the car to the driver's level of aggressiveness. Sounds believable as another Saaber friend of mine had told me about it. Said that once mine is back and "reprogrammed" I can aggressively drive my car and have more responsive parameters, but that the one I'm driving will eventually have the response time gaps (be they small) that exist in my 2000 model. I asked about upgrading my car to the bigger turbo and was told they won't do it; that it voids warranty. Thoughts please!!! Will respond asap but server has been really slow last two days. Hey, WHERE CAN I GET A SAABNET LICENSEPLATE?!
