Yes, in Greece cops are also becoming more strict with this although most accidents are caused by kamikaze overtaking on two lane roads... I mean *really* kamikaze -you have to see this for yourself to understand how scary it is. You see people squeezing between (as in 5 inches close) a slower car and an oncoming bus at over 100mph in the middle of a turn, or even better, simultaneous overtaking: a car overtaking a truck overtaking a tractor while another car is attempting to pass someone in the oncoming direction.
About speeding; cops like to get a radar reading and then signal to other cops waiting at the toll station where they pull you over. Radar detectors are useless, since braking from that kind of speed is futile. Still, I would say that on weekdays the level of patroling is still satisfactory (very little).
