I actaully drove all those cars with the exception of the Volvo before buying my Viggen. The Mercedes is a Mercedes and a weak sports car IMO. They should have compared the S4 over the A6, but I am sure they would have held the S4 in high regards as well. All cars compared are great cars -- the problem is the Viggen doesn't cost 39K out the door and the others do plus some. I hate seeing the Viggen get dinged in the value column. The ergonomic score is a joke as well. I love BMWs, but that is one boring interior. The Audi and the Mercedes probably have the most popular mainstream interiors, but overall I found the Viggen to be the best, not just because of the seats, but the controls are so easy to see and you have by far the best view of the road in the Viggen (Which is what counts right?).
Anyway...enough of my rant. I don't think any of these magazines are going to ever give the 9-3 line a pat on the back until it comes out on the new platform. Who knows, even then they will be biased.
