That's exactly what I did, cooked into an unexpectly tight corner too hot, got on the brakes and the rear end stepped out far enough to drop the RR tire off the road onto the low shoulder (perhaps rough pavement played a role here as well). Things just got ugly from there. Perhaps I could have prevented it; I'm going to take an autocross driving school in late May.
The annoying thing is that I never saw anything but major understeer on the autocross course, a touch of oversteer would have been nice there!
I've had my share of performance cars, not all of which handled well! Before the Saab there were a 16V Scirocco, a Taurus SHO, a Capri 5.0, 69 Roadrunner, etc.
