I removed the drain plug to remove some atf (about 2 quarts). Then reinstall the plug. The cooler lines are under the transmission near the drain plug. They are banjo bolts. I removed the lower hose and pluged the trans with a piece of 3/8 fuel line and pluged the fuel line with a bolt(to prevent atf from leaking once the atf was added). The filter is inside the transmission with no easy access. You have to completly disassemble to remove and no spare part is available. Do not use synthetic fluid when changing. I used Valvoline dextron III. The above method , as I stated before, works great. When you take the car to the dealer, all they do is drain the 2 quarts and refill. What about the rest of the fluid? If the dealer is equiped with a transmission flush machine as described by one poster, then a full transmission service can be performed. You may need another person to cycle the engine on and off, but it's worth it. Good luck!
