I drive a 2000 9-3 base with 9K miles. Just began noticing a noise with my steering and wanted to get your feedback if it is normal.

When pulling in to a parking spot, I first begin by turning the wheel left while the car is moving, then straigtening it out as I come to a stop. While straightening out the wheel, I hear a brief clicking or creaking sound similiar to that of my old Honda that had a CV joint problem, though not as loud, that stops when the wheel is straight and the car has stopped. When I turn the wheel from left to right while the car is stationary, there is no sound.

Curious, I figured I check on the power steering fluid level just to see if it was low. The cap was a tad loose, and it appears as though a little fluid had leaked out the top. When I checked the level, it was down a bit, but there was still fluid in the resivoir.

Is this clicking noise normal, or could it be caused by a reduced level of fluid?
