The problem is probably caused by an open cicuit to the front lamp. When the front lamp is not connected, then the rear will flash faster. The turn signal switch can't be a fault for that behaviour, ...if you study the wiring diagrams.
If they were into the front lamp, the filament may have been weakened by handling and could now be burnt out, or there may yet be a problem in the wiring or connectors.
But the vehicle is new, it may take more than one visit to the dealer to get the wrinkles out, this will likely not be the last.
