I'm not sure which Pirellis you had but I bought P4000s and I am very happy with them. My OEM Michelin MXV4s were quieter but for substantially less money, the Pirellis have much better snow/ice traction, handle about the same, maybe a little harsher and louder. I think I definitely got my money's worth. Granted, the original Michelins went 50,000 miles and it remains to be seen how long my Pirellis last. (By the way, both sets are/were P195/60R15 V rated tires.)
