I'd be interested but I doubt the price will be cheap enough for me since I lease my car and have only 14 months left.
The oil pan + labor costed me $410 last week.
I think it has to have a drain plug hole and access to the oil filter.
A perforated sheet with 1" punched holes all over could do it.
I'm working for an aluminum company that does "break metal and waterjet cutting", so here is my thought:
I'm not sure a 1/8" aluminum will be strong enough to stiffen the subframe. May be you should add a bar like the one from Abbott Racing. Square 1"x 1" tube cost less than $12.00 for 3ft.
A 4'x 4' 1/8" sheet anodized would cost about $ 70.00.
Labor on water jet is very pricey, but 1 hour on the punch machine is about $60.00, shearing and bending is about $45.00 an hour.
You can do at least 6 pieces an hour. Add $15.00 per piece for welding.
Add the bolts and welded caps for the tube- may be $20.00
I have no clue about how to anchor all this since my car is too low for me to look under it.
Do the math...
Regards.
Eric
