I really wouldn't trust a quickie lube with my Saab. The idea of an aggrevated minumum wage employee tinkering with our multi-thousand dollar investment scares me to death. I've heard about & seen too many horrific blunders performed by these places.
I would also recommend, if at all possible, to use the OEM oil filters at least. They dont cost any more than the Pennnzoil Cheapies that the Quickie Lube uses (nor do dealer oil-changes for that matter), but the quality speaks for itself.
Of course, I'd completely understand if a dealer isn't within a feasible driving distance, but I'd still try to use an independent shop with a qualified technician.
As far as the oil, you can get away with the 10w/30 during the summer. The only difference between the 10-30 and the 5-30 is it's consistency when cold. Don't flog the engine until you reach operating temp, and you'll be just fine. In the future, use the factory recommended weights. Also, if you cant make it to the dealer, use a semi-synthetic or a synthetic; it will widen your oil change intervals. Realistically, you should be able to go at least 5-7k miles between changes.
Brian.
