Not too long ago when my 9-5 Aero got
a new ECU, I got a 9-3 Base (185hp) as
a loaner. Today, I drove a VW (Seat)
fitted with AWD and the 180Hp version
of the VAG 1.8L Turbo engine.
1st: The only thing that was better in the VAG Seat
was the steering, it was more accurate.
2nd: The HP figure by VW might be correct but
the 2.0L Engine from Saab provides way better
performance and is LESS noisy! The SAAB was better
in all other respects. Handling was in the end similar
with slight AWD advatage for the SEAT, but too little
to justify the use of AWD.
I guess too few people test drive a SAAB before
they buy something else.
Regards,
Coolknight
