I would only lease if you can take advantage of one of Saab's incentive programs and plan on keeping the car through the term of the lease. With an incentive, lease payments can be incredibly low even with no cap cost reduction - and at the end of the lease, you can then take advantage of the steep depreciation by buying the car. You get low payments for the first three years, then you a good price on a used car that you know has been taken care of. We did the math before buying last year, and it was cheaper to lease for three years and refinance at the end than to buy the car outright on the front end. That assumes buying the car at the official buyout amount, which is a good bit higher than the actual value will be at the end of the lease, so we should even more have room to negotiate.
