I guess you have had the maintenance free experience!
Plugs gapped to .038" ?
Are the injectors clean. Poor spray patterns will cause hard starting! I always recommned Techron Concentrate.
Summer fuel is less ignitable... lower volatility.
When you start, puse with the ignition on before cranking. The fuel pressure might not be up if you run the igniton switch thru to crank right a way.
Some folks have reported some improvement after cleaning the throttle body. Small deposits where the butterfly closes can create a significant blockage as the clearances are very small. If other thing don't help, might be worth a try. Use a cloth with some solvent. You do not need to hose it down with a flood of carb cleaner or such things.
Yes, as you have probably started to suspect, the Saab system can get spooked by battery problems.
And for those of you have not yet heard, top up the battery with distilled water, every 8000 miles or 3x's per year. You will soon get to know whats required. And if your dealer is doing fluids changes, they are responsible for dry cells! Dry cells can arc and explode, sending acid over your engine etc.
