This is what I'm afraid of with the Viggen: how close to the ground it is. Last winter, I went out in my Jeep in every major winter storm, usually during the hieght of the storm. I did this to re-learn snow driving skills (having not seen snow -- other than for brief periods -- for about 18 years). Even with 5 inches of snow, very steep hills, and not great tires, the Jeep kicks butt in the snow. Unfortunately, it's getting old (15 years). I was hoping that the Viggen would kick butt in the snow, but I don't think it is high enough off the ground. You'll be pushing snow everywhere, which I'm sure isn't good for traction (nothing worse than floating on top of the snow). Also, the fact that you cannot put thinner tires (i.e., 15 inch rim-type tires) on it is supposedly a detriment for snow.
It looks like I'll be buying winter tires for the Jeep, although I'll probably still buy snow tires for the Viggen.
