Hi Steve,
Well no one is going to assume the lease - - -if you need to unload it just take the 6k or 7k loss at this point.
The x-type that I originally ordered came in early August - - I was really not impressed - - it priced out at 42k and looked more like a car that they added things to instead of a car that had the right stuff built into it from the start. They have been moving very slowly off the dealers lot. Two other people that I know ordered one opted not to take delivery.
Some of my observances:
Why do they still put those crappy pieces of plastic uder the steering wheel section - tap on it and it sounds like a Yugo (well I never was in a Yugo but I assume that is the quality level)
The back door is very odd - - you can barely open it to get into it - - if you put your briefcase in the rear foot area it would take a bit of maneuvering to get it out the door. I can't imagine the contortions of someone trying to get into the back seat.
Also the door looks thin and the door sill and frame area looks poorly fineshed off - - it seems like to many pieces.
The front lights don't seem deep enough - -the lens is .5 inches from the lexan - looks cheap from up close.
From the side it looks like a contour- - the rear back up sensors look like they were an afterthought - - they are on a black plastice strip that is connected to the bottom of the bumper. It looks poorly designed.
The front headlight washer cover is a a piece of poor fitting plastic that looks like it will pop of at speed.
Steve - What were your thoughts?
Dave
