The SLK is nice - - the 230 is a bit slow - - similar to some rather slow Saabs that don't have the highest performing engines - - - if you want to compare the SLK to 9-3 HOT or Viggen you should really use the higher performing engine for the SLK either the 320 or AMG version.
However I always am amused at people who try to out speed other cars. I guess it goes to show that there are foolish Saab and Mercedes owners. I noticed fewer women tend to do this than men - - - I guess that is a male weakness.
The SLK is a nice 2nd or 3rd car - - the hard top is a nice feature.
I also find that the SLK doesn't exhibit that dreadful torque steer when you accelerate hard - I found the Viggen to be rather crude in that area.
Funny you should ask what the SLK 230 is for - - - I often get asked what the Saabs are for - - ;-)
