The only trim you could possibly hose-up is the little round plug covering the set screw (trying to get it out that is). Other than that, once the door handle and the backing "cup" pop out of the door panel, you've got a pretty good shot into the inside of the door. Look for the silver rod with something of a hook on the end of it and make sure it is still held to the inside of the door with a little plastic trim piece. It's possible for that rod to pop right of the inside of the door and "misalign". It's also possible that the door handle plastic itself has crapped out on you, but you'd HAVE to work at that. Regardless, if you're already getting your SID replaced, don't fix anything yourself. :^)
