Woobling is quite normal on convertibles with a softtop. I have a 2001 9-3 SE covnertible, and the wooble is present on really unstable roads. I test drove the BMW 3 series before purchasing my Saab, and it is even worse. The 9-3 is widely regarded as the most stable soft-top convertible out there. I recently drove the 2002 Lexus SC430, my neighbor bought it. Wooble isn't there, but then again, the soft top isn't there either. Perhaps the Z3 has less wooble, the wheelbase is significantly shorter than other convertibles.
