Hey, I've been meaning to write . . .

I put a set of Yokohma Guardex 600's on my '00 9-3 base last year, using the recommended snow tire size from the owner's manual. Very happy!! They are called studless. Handled great in all conditions, never got stuck and we are in the snow belt here in upstate New York. I think they outperform the Michelin Alpins on my wife's Jetta.

Plus, the Yoko's are solid snow tire to the base. Many snow tires are mixed compound, the theory being you wear off the snow tire part and then you have a normal tire for the summer. Huh? What's up with that?

And best part? $435 on rims for a set of four from our sponsor Tire Rack!!

And I got to put them back on soon!
