A friend of mine took his 9-3HOT convertable to the dealer becuase the engine light came on and the car would not accelerate very well. The dealer found that the cat was blocked up with a brownish substance and said that unleaded fuel could be the culprit. If only a few tank fulls of leaded were used (my friend denies ever using unleaded but thinks petrol stations may have mixed the fuels during a recent shortage of unleaded) would it merely deactivate the cat or can it physically block it?
