Sorry if this have been covered before, but I'm in the middle of a trip.
I drove about 1.5hr @ 120-140km/h, all of a sudden, my car "shiver", struggling for power. I was just trying to overtake a car, acc. from 120 -> 140.

I later found out that this problem seems to happen when ever the car hits 2500-3000rpm. It seems like even if I depress the gas pedal to the fullest, the engine won't go past 3000rpm.

When the auto-stick kicks down to a lower gear(thus the RPM were pump back to 4500-5000rpm), then the car run "fairly" normally.

After about half hour of "stuttering" the CHECK-ENGINE light turns on. And when ever the stuttering occur, the light flash.

Does anyone have seen this problem before?

p.s. I've 99' 9-3S with Abott ECU and exhaust.
