...and to my knowledge, no one has really come up with an explanation. The problem has been reported on all 9-3's, with exactly the same symptoms as you describe. Some suggest it is a heat issue, others blame wet rotors. Personally, I've never experienced the problem, but my initial thought is that water would be spun off the rotor so quickly that it wouldn't be a factor. Your ice theory is interesting, though if I remember correctly, this has been reported with warm weather driving as well. I may be wrong there. Could be that at certain speeds a continuous spray of water is directed right at the rotors?
Regardless, I don't think there's a solution out there yet. Search for brakes on this board and go back probably 9 months to a year, and you should find some more discussion and ranting on this.
