I've purchased several Saabs over the years (starting with a 1975 model) and most recently a used 900SE purchased from a dealer. In large part due to my strong recommendations, one relative ans one co-worker have purchased 9-3's in the last 2 years. I've been waiting for the new 9-3 see if I want to stay with Saab, or be a traitor.
As mentioned in other posts, I'm dissapointed there will be no h/b, but I'm far more concered about the use of a widely-shared platform, given GM's checkered history in this regard.
Overall, the new 9-3 features & styling look very good (except for the lack of a coupe or h/b). Maybe the hp/weight ratio could be a bit better, from what I've read so far (the WRX having set it pretty high), but handling is more important that 0-60 time.
I'm waiting anxiously for more details, car mag reviews, and most importantly my own test drive.
