A few other considerations that haven't yet been mentioned:
All Saabs depreciate HARD, but the SE is likely to hold its value a bit better than the base model.
As a somewhat taller driver whose much shorter wife sometimes drives my car, the power seats were essential. Readjusting the seats with the manual controls is a real PITA.
If you're paying for the wooden dash and leather in a base model, you probably would be paying much more for the SE anyway. As for ride harshness in the SE - go to slightly higher profile tires and the ride softens pleasantly (if you're not one to really push the car in corners, where the low profile tires reduce body sway). I replaced the stock Michelin's on my 16" wheels with Nokian NRW (their new all-weather tire) in 205/55's, and I like the difference, especially for city driving.
