I'm a former Volvo man myself. And as a former Saab man.....

the first thing I'd do would be to polish and wax that
Saab if only to get the benefit of a close-up inspection,
learn where things are, and enhance its apprearance.
This I would do even if the car looked OK washed up.

Watch your head on the front door as you lean over into
the car.

And congratulations! I met a Swede one time and asked that
Swede how the two cars were regarded in Sweden. He replied
that the Volvo was regarded as an old person's car and the
Saab a higher performance car for younger people.

While Volvo has come a long way since I asked the question,
they have also become far too mainstream for my tastes.
Nevertheless, a Volvo would probably be my second choice
as I tend to become faithful to a marque.
