Another speaker question: components in front doors?

To those who have component front speakers with the woofers in the doors and the tweeters where the dash speakers were:
A) do you have to run a seperate cable through the door to the dash to accomodate the crossover, OR
B) can you locate the crossover where the existing dash and door speaker lines split, using the existing molex connector to get from the crossover into the doors?
