Yours is an early failure. Many fail at 110, 120,000 miles in higher mileage vehicles, typically sudden death with that burn epoxy smell. But with older vehicles with lesser miles we see a fair number of these starting to cause various problems without burning out. We have been suggesting to folks with such problems to just get a new DI anyways, and get it off the net at a time of their choosing. And if the new DI does not cure the problems, then they will have the spare in the trunk for the day that would normally involve the tow truck and dealer pricing. Many have done this and found the that the DI was the problem.

They can be had from eeuroparts for $270, no tax, free shipping, at least for the older red ones that the NG900's typically use. I don't know if the pricing is different for the new ones which are black.
